I guess my point was that, as far as the Squeezebox is concerned, it IS
connected...though to SqueezeNetwork rather than SqueezeCenter at that
point.  The SqueezeBox is, in fact, a pretty dumb client in this
regard.  It doesn't "know" that it's connected to SN vs SC.  All it
knows is that it's being served by something with an ip address.

Ideally, you should be able to do something easy, like a "press & hold"
of the power button, to make the SqueezeBox fire off a WOL magic packet
no matter if the SB is connected or not.  But I'm not sure that even
this would be possible.  I don't think the SB does any or much
"interpretation" of the remote's IR signals.  In this case, the
power-press+hold would get forwarded to SN by the SB, SN would then
have to transmit a command back to the SB telling it to fire off the
WOL packet.  Perhaps this is doable. Would this work for you?  If so,
wrap it up in a SN enhancement request.

PS: anyone know if power-press+hold is already used in some other
context?
