"Stereo Mix (Realtek High Defini" "AudioCapIn (ASUSTeK Virtual Cap" -The one listed first is "wavin:0" right? BTW, now I've also tried to play "wavin:1" in squeezecenter with no more luck. I tried recording using both Stereo Mix and AudioCapIn. Both files are nothing but silence when played back. I reckon this confirms my suspicion that there is something wrong with the "loop back". i.e the audio from the output is not being picked up by the recording device. What can I do? Does it matter what output device i configure? Most of the time while experimenting, I've been using "Realtek Digital Output". In addition to the standard Windows Vista Sound configuration panel I have Realtek HD Audio Manager installed. This provides some additinal configuration options, but nothing which seems significant.
