Well, you've got me there.  I've used Wireshark and it's predecessor,
Ethereal on maybe 3 occasions.  The wireshark gui does include
filtering tools, so you ought to be able to sniff out the wol magic
packets, if they're there.  Also, there's a little windows utility,
wake on lan monitor:
http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/wake-on-lan-monitor.aspx, which,
again, may confirm that the packets aren't being sent when you pick the
local server on the SNed SBC as the music source.  (Though, it is hard
to prove a negative.)  Anyway, I do encourage you to file a bug on
this.  You can't be the only one having this experience.
