I've seen a similar issue if the machine running squeezecenter is
powered off.  In this case squeezeslave needs to be restarted.  I
suspect it's related to what you're seeing.

Try running squeezeslave in a command window so you can see any error
messages it throws.  Let the machine go to sleep and see if you have a
similiar error message in the cmd window after wakeup.

Error in recv 1: Bad file descriptor

Please try this using version 0.8-12, it's not the most current
release, but it is the most tested.
