It's a limitation of KP. It's not coded to allow redefining buttons on a regular Squuezebox remote -- I didn't anticipate any demand for that. If it did allow redefining the remote key, you wouldn't be able to use the SB3 6 button for anything else on the Boom (but you could also choose to sacrifice/redefine a different SB3 button). I've thought a bit about "naming" KP macros so they could be accessed with ContextMenu -- you could hold the right arrow on SB3 or Boom remote, scroll up/down to a "KidsPlay macros" option, then select your custom macro name.
