Dear Pippin, I just downloaded iPeng on my iphone, following consultation of all 3 squeezebox apps. I succumbed to the rave reviews iPeng got over, and it seemed to be the most stable out of all 3 apps. However glad I am to be a part of the iPeng community, I must say I have yet to reap the any of the benefits.
Let me first assure you, I have consulted penguinlovesmusic.de, as it seems yo be the only viable resource regarding setup problems. The app starts up but doesnt detect the squeezecenter server at all, although the iphone is connected to my home Wi-Fi (which also hosts my squeezebox). I don't have anything comlex set up as far as my home network, just a regular home network via my Airport Extreme (N) router. Squeezecenter runs on my laptop, which these days rarely leaves home, and runs fine currently with the native Squeezecontroller remote. I would appreciate your input as to what alternative steps to possibly take. From my understanding iPeng should detect the server from its startup. The router set up with WPA2 Personal security and DHCP. Is the problem emanating from DHCP setup (since it distributes a range of static ip adresses) I thought as long as the iphone is connected to my home network it's automatically synced up to talk to any of the devices on the network. Please help.
