Go back to the beginning. What are you trying to do ? For example, Are you trying to channel one particular app through SC ? Are you trying to route a Pulseaudio from anoth PC into Sc ?
If the arecord -D pulse doesn't work then it is a config error. Your other solution is too complicated - For example, I think there is no need for ecasound with Pulse and then into SC.
