Well, my collection is mp3 only, and so Inguz seems to convert them on-the-fly, using the aforementioned executeables. A fresh install of SC 7.3.2 did not work, but downgrade to SC7.3.1 did. I could see that the handling of "child" processes is done differently between the two versions: in 7.3.1, stopping SC will also kill the inguz process and the other exe's. In 7.3.2 these processes are left behind running after shutdown.
