WaveInput captures a 44.1kHz 16bit sample PCM stream from Windows. Depending on the sound card and its drivers - the sound may or may not have been processed to add sound effects (e.g. bass boost, treble, Large Hall). The same PCM stream is then sent to Soundcard D->A and then output or to soundcard digital out.
