Thank you Erland, this works just fine. Next step is for me to integrate this with the script I have already put in place to select songs based on its key. I already checked the forum for a plugin that mixes songs 'on beat' but doesn't look like this will be coming soon.
So combining the BPM selection with the key selection is as close one can possibly get to melodic mixing at this point in time. Will give it a go this weekend.
