How did you edit the maplyer.sh file ? Did you use an editor on the
Linkstation or did you transfer to PC, edit and then transfer back. If
you did the PC method then it is likely format, permission and ownership
have been changed and there is something incompatible.

However, think it is a NAS and since you has the /bin/sh issues it is
likely you will have another common NAS issue. This issues means you
have to edit the Alien custom-convert.conf file and it bypasses
mplayer.sh

If you can edit file on the NAS (e.g. using something likew vi or nano)
do the following.

1. Edit the file custom-convert.conf in Alien directory
2. on the RTSP lines change the mplayer.sh to mplayer
3. on the RTSP lines change the /dev/fd/3 to - which is minus sign.
4. Close file and save
5. Restart SC
6. Check Settings/Advanced/Filetyes that RTSP entries now have mplayer
and not mplayer.sh

If you edit the file on the PC - use "ls -l" to get the file ownership
and permission of custom-covert.conf file. Edit the file as above (on
Windows use something like Wordpad but Notepad or Word) and then make
sure the updated file has the same permissions and ownership as the
original.
