I just tried to upgrade on my 7.4 nightly on my development machine and the result is:
1. If you have a TrackStat backup your are always safe, it will be possible to restore when TrackStat has been updated so it works with the new SQLite database. 2. The old MySQL database isn't deleted, so if you make sure to save the Cache/MySQL directory in a safe place or if you use a standalone MySQL instance there is always a way to get the ratings back. It will probably include downgrading SqueezeCenter back to a version before the database backend changes but at least it should be possible. 3. In my upgrade, the rating and statistics information was not transfered to the new SQLite database. The result is that all ratings and statistics was lost in SqueezeCenter, this includes both the ratings/statistics stored in standard SqueezeCenter tables as well as ratings/statistics stored in TrackStat tables. 4. If you use a standalone MySQL instance, this will still contain the ratings and you should be able to use it again as soon as the latest 7.4 nightly has been made compatible with MySQL again. I suspect there might be bug corrections in 7.3.x to make this work better, but if you have already upgraded and don't have a TrackStat backup and don't use a standalone MySQL instance I'm guessing that you will have to downgrade to get the ratings back. Of course I'm just guessing, Logitech might have other plans. Anyway, having a TrackStat backup is the safe path that will always work. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) 'My download page' (http://erland.isaksson.info/download) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49483 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
