No BBCiplayer or AlienBBC plugin comes with SC installation. You had to have installed them explicitly. However they have been updated recently and it is important to know specifically which version.
To get the version no all you need do is look at WebUI Settings/Plugins page to get the version info. If you are in the UK - don't bother with AlienBBC just use BBCiPlayer. The BBC 500 internal error is usually a BBC problem and not an SC or plugin problem. A lot of other users have encountered it - do a search to see if they found a solution.
