So do you have a hardware player at all? A squeezebox classic or duet or boom? If so, from what you say I understand it is wired directly to the server using a crossover cable - you have no router involved at all?
If you don't have a hardware player, what are you using to play songs - Softsqueeze, Squeezeplay or something else? Also, does this sentence "i'm also playing the music out the sound card thats on the server itself" mean you are syncing a hardware player and a software player?
