I decided to have a try at building squeezeplay - it looked way too
complex for me, but, to my surprise it built with no problems.
It has EXACTLY the same audio problem as squeezeslave, so I think that
the issue is nothing to do with my build, or squeezeslave per se, but is
some underlying issue.
Other audio apps that I've tried ('Listen Music Player') work fine,
though, so perhaps its specific to the audio libraries that the squeeze
players use?
Do you think that it would be worth me asking for squeezeplay help with
this question in a new thread?
Unless you have some other ideas, I think that it's an OS
re-install/downgrade next.
