Hi all, I've had two squeezeboxesv3 for many years now, and previously i've got most answers i needed by reading these forums, but now i have a problem that needs your help with a special type of playlist.
Playlist goal: create a playlist (random tracks at this stage) by looking at artists that have tracks in one date range, then playing only these artists tracks from a different date range. An example: an artist has had tracks in the 80's, 90's, 00's etc. I want to play their early tracks, not their latest tracks. The date range may not be actual decades, it could be early 90's and late 90's, in this case i want only the early 90's. This scenario usually occurs as i'm listening to random playlist and an artist plays a track, and i think, i'd like to hear some of their early work, or their work in the x-y years. I would also like to work in reverse as well. Another way i thought this could work with less user input would be a dynamic playlist that first selects only artists that have tracks in 2 date ranges ie 70's & 90's then plays only the artists 70's tracks. this would be multiple artists, not just one. If this is also possible using other plugins, i'd been interested in that too. I hope i'm not asking for too much here. Other info: On complication albums by a single artist, I tag each track so the year is set to the year when the track was first released. I also have a lot of single tracks with and without album tag across multiple years.
