Hm, but this *is* how some programmes are identified under the iPlayer
plugin, which is why I'm a little puzzled (disclaimer: I know nothing
about how iPlayer works).

So, this would make sense if the plugin listed, for example, Danny
Baker 14/09/09, but it doesn't — it just lists Monday, Tues, etc under
"Home > BBC iPlayer > BBC Local Radio > BBC London > Danny Baker"
(for the purposes of my example).

When these direct links are used, they *always* link to the most recent
show for that day — 'Tuesday" is yesterday, 'Wednesday' is last week.
This is great and just what I need.

The problem (for me) is that I want to use these shows as alarms and
for that I need to save them Favourites. This is the problem — while
those direct links always seem to be updated with new shows, the updates
aren't rolled through to the Favourites, which breaks the alarms.
