Hi folks,

As I rip more and more of my CD's, I'm starting to dislike the flat
nature of my multiple genre tagging scheme. I understand Custom Browse
has a Genre/SubGenre menu type but I have a few questions I can't seem
to find answers for:

1. What is the best way to optimize tags for Genre/SubGenre usage?

a) Tags seperated by a character like ";" with primary genre first,
then SubGenre? If tagged like this will the Genre/SubGenre work
automatically?

b) Seperate Genre tags? (How would it know which is the primary?)

c) Distinct Genre and SubGenre tags?

2. When using the Genre/SubGenre menu, if a track/album etc does not
contain a SubGenre, does it not appear at all?

Here's an example:

CD 1: Mozart Requiem
Genre: Choral; Requiem

CD 2: Romantic Choral Music
Genre: Choral

CD1 works nicely. In the case of CD2, for the purposes of this
example, simply contains "generic" choral music. That is to say, choral
music that I do not want defined any further (ie. no subgenre).

When browsing the Choral Genre, I'd love to get a list of all
SubGenre's at the top (ie. Requiem, Motet, Secular), letting me drill
deeper as required. However, I'd love for the rest of the material (all
choral material, with no sub genre definition) shown below.

This way, I could use the Custom Browse Genre/SubGenre menu and have
access to all my music. Displaying only the music tagged with a
SubGenre, in my case, would exclude alot of my material.

My apologies for the long-winded post. I hope someone has a
suggestion.
