after resetting the iTunes xml file path and messing around with various SC settings, I got this working. It's kind of like trying to tune in a far way TV station via an old analog antennae...you use some aluminum foil, a coat hanger, bang the TV a few times and when it works you walk slowly away and don't touch it again.
