The better Favorite handling will go away when BBC stop RealAudio streams in March 2010 - the real solution is to fix SBS alarm handling of streams.
If you want to wake up to live BBC streams - I suggest using the WMA streams. It is the intention to create two Plugins - one for RealAudio support (still used by RAI Italy and RTE Ireland) and another for WMA support for older players on Linux and OSX. These plugins will therefore just provide audio format support - no station handling.
