One of the things I love about my set-up is the ability (here in Texas!)
to wake up to my native BBC in the morning: usually Radio 3.

Under Alien BBC this was easy. Play R3 from Alien; save as a Playlist
(in fact my Playlist folder is called "Radio" and contains only my 10 or
so favorite live radio feeds); select that Playlist under "Alarm Sound"
in the Alarm menu.

But I've now gradually shifted from Alien to iPlayer (as the RealAudio
feed that Alien so usefully adapted for us is being phased out by the
Beeb...). And - as we are finding out - SC can't use an iPlayer saved
Playlist as an Alarm Sound source.

In the larger Squeezebox scheme of things, maybe this doesn't loom so
very large as a problem. But it is, overall, a step backwards for a
small, though dedicated set of users.

Is this something that can easily, or soon!, be addressed? It seems
odd to me - but, hey!, what do I know... - that SC *can* save a live
iPlayer stream as a Playlist, and can then later run that stream from
the Playlist menu, but that Alarm *can't* play it.

{BTW, clever members have noted a workround - play your chosen wake-up
stream before you go to bed; set Alarm Sound to "Use Current Playlist";
Stop your player.... - but it's a tad awkward, and doesn't allow you to
fall asleep to one audio stream, and wake up to another. Also, in my
case, doesn't work if you have a program running that reboots your
server in the middle of every night, after the virus check is run...)
