Hi again Erland - I think I have actually solved the problem myself after a little trial-and-error.
In the CustomScan settings I had set enabled sort tag mappings for COMPOSER=COMPOSERSORT and CONDUCTOR=CONDUCTORSORT. By making a new "Custom Tags Albums" with just the tag field set and no sort tag name, my menus are now sorting in the correct order. I suspect this is what BruceSchillo needs to do in order to get his Custom Albums by composers menu working too.
