[BPA, taking your informormation regarding our Qnap devices i've ordered a Sheevaplug to use as a server. it's quite a powerful device and with a lot of reading /trial and error i hope this will improve my Squeeze performance,which is rather limping along at the moment!.

To lighten the processing load but this will increase network traffic - try disabling the encoding of AAC into Flac.
