Ok, here we go. (In case you don't know, Yahoo! Pipes is a free service that lets you retrieve, filter, aggregate, and customize RSS feeds.)
I've set up two pipes that convert Twitter feeds into a format that is more suitable for the Squeezebox RSS News Ticker. The first one simply retrieves a single feed of your choice. Tweets older than 24 hours are discarded except for the two most recent ones, as are tweets containing URLs (since these are of no use on a SB display) and "@" replies. http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=707bf9a452c2ee510e9d68f61cab8fe7&_render=rss&name=logitech Again, replace "logitech" with a Twitter user name. You can of course set up several instances with different user names and cycle through them in the newsticker. The second one lets you retrieve as many Twitter feeds as you like with a single call. However, to specify your feeds of interest you need to clone the sample pipe and edit the Fetch Feed module, which means you must have a Yahoo! account. After customizing the pipe click on "Get as RSS" and let the newsticker plugin retrieve that feed. http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info?_id=2bdf16c3211be32d3558535b6e462274 Like the first pipe this one also discards tweets older than 24 hours, tweets containing URLs, and "@" replies. Unfortunately Yahoo! Pipes is not the most reliable of services (you get what you pay for), so occasionally the screen might just stay blank. Usually this sorts itself out again after a couple of minutes. -- usch ------------------------------------------------------------------------ usch's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33389 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=72785 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
