I have an old laptop and decided to turn it into a squeezebox rig. I registered an account at mysqueezebox.com, installed Squeezebox Server on the old laptop, installed Squeezeplayer on the old laptop. Then I configured the SB system to use my Pandora account, my Last.FM account, and added 10 of my favorite Shoutcast stations. Everything is working perfectly! I put the laptop on top of my Onkyo amplifier and wired the headphone out directly to the audio input on the Onkyo receiver. Again, perfect sucess!!
Everything is working so great!! What is the point of buying the SB Receiver!!?? Since a PC is required to run SB Server, I do not understand the point of buying the SB REceiver! It seems very stupid device to buy when an old laptop could be used "all in one".
