It's unlikely that powersave is causing these problems, it is just simulating what you would do if you powered off from the controller or web interface.
Try disabling the plugin to see if the problem continues. If it does not, re-enable the plugin and turn on debugging. Advanced->Logging-> plugin.powersave->Debug.
