My brother and I both have identical ISP's, SB3's and ReadyNAS Duo's in our respective homes, running the latest version of Squeezebox Server and BBC iPlayer.
I don't have any problems whatsoever with my system, unlike my brother. When he selects Radio 1 through to 7 on Listen Again, iPlayer 'stops' after about 30 seconds of trying to connect. No such problem occurs when similarly selecting any of the local radio stations on Listen Again. Likewise, there is no problem on listening live to Radio 1 through 7. I have resorted to trying his ReadyNAS at my home - where iPlayer's 'Listen Again' feature behaves as expected, with programmes loading almost instantaneously. The one variable that differs between our systems is that I regularly achieve 15Mb download speed at my home while my brother only regularly achieves 3Mb download speed. Is it the case, therefore, that the bandwidth required to receive Radio 1 through 7 via Listen Again is too large for my brother's lowly broadband connection? Moreover, what is the bandwidth required for such stations? Alternatively, is there something else that I haven't considered? -- spinaltap My Mac can go all the way to XI ------------------------------------------------------------------------ spinaltap's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18224 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
