...if this could be an interesting plugin"? This just what everbody has been waiting for. It's just perfect. The squeezebox just turned into something more than a player. And my Spotify membership jumped to a new level.
First I didn't realize whether I should have my Spotify on, or if I needed to have my squeezebox server on. I also had to reinstall and restart a couple of times, but it was really worth this (small) effort.
