Somewhere in this thread, Martin posted a DIFF for the main plugin script which solves this problem. I applied it to the original script and made my personal plugin package. It now works really well on my Boom. If I understood the changes correctly, it should still work on the other Squeezeboxes. If there is no objection, I could try to post it here.
