New beta is now available from the usual location. Main changes: - added support for spotify radio and artist mix & similar artist mix (radio) [Note 1] - fixed playlist images on web interface for 7.6 - fixed authentication for more than one player - hide web specific dialogs from other interfaces - alternative spotifyd binary included for osx 10.5 intel users [Note 2]
This beta includes significant new functionality to play a continuous stream of tracks as a "radio" station or random mix. There are two separate options for this: 1) Radio - this plays a stream of tracks for a selected decade and genre 2) Artist / Similar Artist Mix - this plays a stream of tracks from the selected artist (Artist Mix) or that artist and similar atists (Similar Artist Mix) I would be interested in feedback on the UI for the Radio option as this is more restrictive than the Spotify inteface (which allows multiple decades and genres to be selected). This limitation is with the UI only and I would be interested if people see the need for the addtional flexibility Spoitify has (it may mean it has to appear on a separate menu as I can't do it in the way I am building the menus at present.) Note 1: Please note that at present Radio & Similar Artist Mixes switch off shuffle mode for the player. This is because they cannot coexist. I would like to be able to avoid this, but this needs a server change. Note 2: OSX 10.5 users with intel machines appear not to be supported correctly at present by the spotify library. As a workaround, an alternative binary spotifydppc is included in the build. If your machine is an intel machine running 10.5 then replacing spotifyd with spotifydppc should make it work, at the expense of needing to run the helper application in ppc emulation mode. -- Triode ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
