I also have a Boom, and without the numeric keys it is only possible to use the Play option.
I am also using a plugin called Switch Player 0.2 by Triode, I can save the bookmarks 0-9 on my Squeezebox and the recall the one I want back onto the Squeezebox and then using Switch Player what is playing (the recovered bookmarked track) to the Boom.
