With that said your method of renaming the "zip" file as a "par" file is probably causing your current difficulty. A par file is not the same as a zip file. Renaming a zip file to par will not work. You need to make sure you create a par file. WinRAR or WinZIP will work. Not sure about 7zip, but if you extracted the plugin.pm file using 7zip it should be capable of putting it back.
