As already said, on the Boom most stuff can be done in perl on the
server side. So if you are interested in doing this, let us know what
you plan to do and we can give you some kind of idea if it's possible
to not and where to look for more information.
As long as you aren't trying to make a screen saver with fast
animations, it's probably possible to do it as a perl plugin installed
in Squeezebox Server.
