Can you play flac or other uncompressed files from your server to your players without rebuffering - i.e. do you know your local network has enough bandwidth? If so then I suspect the problem is due to congestion at the spotify end - leave the plugin playing through a playlist, it should keep trying to connect to a different spotify server every time it shows a prolonged period of rebuffing.
