Is there a case for adding a "prefer AAC" option, so feeds can fall
back to the lower quality WMA encoding if the AAC streams fail for some
reason? That way there would be no service failure if the current
situation were to recur. Of course, it might take longer before people
notice AAC is not working...

I'm sure you did it for a reason, but I haven't been able to workout
why anyone would "prefer WMA", which I think is the only option for
order of preference currently available. Possibly I'm misunderstanding
something (such as the failure detection before fail-over to lower
quality feeds can occur).
