I've been troubleshooting myself for a while and finally I have found a solution.
What worked for me was to change the language of the remote controller to English instead of Nederlands (Dutch). Now the Iplayer icon appeared in the internet radio section. When I changed the language back to Nederlands it was still there and the Iplayer works as expected. Now I can listen to the essential mix when I want to. Brilliant.
