There are some weather plugins which were designed before the "Squeezeplay" players (Controller, Touch, Radio) and work with the older players. The Weather applet you describe is designed for these newer Squeezeplay-based players. Another option (which is what I use on my Radio) is a combination of SuperDateTime along with the CustomClock screensaver. SuperDateTime is a plugin designed for the older players, but there are CustomClock screensavers which allow the SDT information to be displayed on Touch. Plus, the CustomClock screensavers can be customized.
