If forced refresh from SBS to mySB.com was added, that would be good
news. I remember long ago posting about the use case where you set a
local alarm, switch players and sleep the local SBS in a jiffy. In that
case the new player alarm was possibly not synchronized to mySB.com.

Regarding player migration, and not using forced refresh, what I do is
ask (in JSON) both SBS and mySB for their lists of players, *and* query
individual player power status with both servers.
Both servers may respond "this player is with me" (happens during
transition time) but then a request for individual player power status
(any other would do I guess) will fail with one of the servers and
expose the liar.
When I get a player declared as tied to the expected server, and can
get its status from the same server without error, then I consider
migration was successful.

I've rarely seen a player push to mySB.com fail. Pulling to SBS is much
more likely to fail on first attempt(s), because it happens at server
wake-up time.

(Note: I'm doing this with SB3 and Boom. I quickly gave up on the newer
stuff.)
