Some while back in this thread I grumbled about fractional second 'glitches' on the Touch when using AAC streams in iPlayer.
The solution for me was to use the File Type config to disable native AAC and used faad server-side to convert to FLAC. This worked fine for me. However, somehow in the process of upgrades the glitches have returned to the Touch and looking at Task Manager faad isn't a running process. Rebooted Server but no change.
