ok I have reinstalled everything including the latest itunes and latest SC and latest itunesupdater.
When I select half stars, they ARE shown on the player and the duet remote. But they do not appear in itunes itself. Only the nearest whole star is reported. Under itunesupdater the option for half stars is ON.
