Thanks for the ideas, especially the coverflow/artist part. Regarding large collections, i consider my self to have quite a large one(~1400 albums), and application starts in roughly 4 seconds with all data loaded(first startup is a lot longer though ). Just give it a go, trialmode is enabled, so it won't cost you anything. :D
