The BBCiPlayerExtra is intended to be complementary to iPlayer. It uses different BBC feeds for program info but it the end it plays the same "file" or streams. It may be useful because * Can be quicker to display program list as some of the program feeds have only 10 programs which is much smaller than feeds used by iPlayer * Can still work on the rare occasions when the iPlayer XML feed goes down. * Can access all R4 iPlayer content which includes the archives beyond 7 days (mainly talk/documentary/discussion) such as Desert Island Discs but without the music.
