Back in 2009 SourgeForge was sent a DMCA take down request from Adobe related to the rtmpdump project. Ultimately that project simply changed where it was hosted and still exists today. If you look into how RTMPE works it's security through obscurity, because it's encryption based upon entirely public information. But all that aside... My plugin would require the use of a helper program to play the actual stream and handle the RTMPE bits so there is no decryption functionality in it. I'm simply doing some XML-RPC stuff to get the URL of the stream. If (big if) I can get it to work end-users will need to have a version of ffmpeg with rtmpdump support on their machine to actually do the playing.
