Having trashed Napster in a previous thread, mainly for its stability (although that is improving), I am beginning to think it may not be so bad after all...
One thing I like about it is the ability to add music to my Napster "library" and create playlists on their web site and for these to then be reflected on the SqueezeBox Napster application. I find creating playlists much more straightforward on a proper PC or laptop and rather not do it on the Controller or iPeng if I can help it. If the Spotify plugin does not have this then I am not inclined to go out of my way to get it. The collection of music on Spotify is not that different to Napster anyway. One thing I can do with Spotify though that I cannot do with Napster is (using the dsbridge files) sit on the sofa or at the kitchen table with a laptop and footle around with music and play it through the SqueezeBoxes. I can also create playlists and play them directly that way. With Napster I cannot do that directly other than through the SqueezeBox web interface - which is a bit clunky and not really designed for the purpose. -- TheLastMan Matt http://www.last.fm/user/MJL-UK *SqueezeBoxes:* SB Duet (Controller + two receivers) *Server:* Synology DS107+ NAS (with firmware 2.3-1157) running Squeezebox Server 7.5.3 on Synology Package Manager *Network:* Netgear DG834GT ADSL modem/router, 2 x Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 as access points *Livingroom:* Receiver into Naim 42/110 amp, B&W CM2 speakers *Kitchen:* Receiver into Denon DM37 mini-system, B&W 686 speakers *Study:* Linn LP12, Naim 72/Hi-cap/Headline. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ TheLastMan's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16021 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88933 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
