Hmm ... you could be onto something. If I don't have the VPN running then iPlayer won't play 3 HD.
I assumed that BBC Radio follows the same route - but maybe not? With VPN I get 3 HD on iPlayer but not BBC Radio. It's late here - tomorrow I'll switch to the linux sbs server (with and without VPN) and report the outcome.
