That was back in 1995. With a 50% rise in the CPI over the intervening 16 years, I'd be billing at $142.67 per hour these days in order to make the same kind of money.
Nobody is going to pay me that rate to do this work. If my only compensation for this will be the temporary thanks of the two or three people who will use it....well, I think you can see why this project is on my back burner. castalla;650283 Wrote: > From what you wrote above about Win vs Linux ... does this mean that the > external shutdown options only apply to Linux. Again, the "external" option is _*shutdown*_ > specific and works on windows, linux and osx. SrvrPowerCtrl has no direct hooks into the os-enabled power management schemes on any of those platforms. Remember: SrvrPowerCtrl was designed to provide a replacement power management utility for a _stand-alone,_headless,_single-purpose_dedicated_audio_server_. I've extended it in the past year so that it is a little more "system" aware, and it's now capable of monitoring network traffic as part of determining idle conditions. I did that using example code from epoch1970 and primarily for my own purposes. My _stand-alone,_headless,_single-purpose_dedicated_audio_server_ now runs a dlna service serving up video. But the basic model is still the same. SrvrPowerCtrl really isn't an appropriate power management tool for a general-use computer. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
