Phil,

Did you also open port 3483 on that server? The other gotcha is that
you have to use the same port internally (in your local network) as
externally (towards the Internet), so you must not forward e.g. Port
9000 to port 8000 while using 8000 in both cases will work. Not 100%
sure whether this limitation applies to 3483, too.
It's not an iPeng limitation, btw, you need to do the same if you want
to connect a Squeezebox remotely, the problem is that the server tells
the player which port to use on several occasions and it will always
tell the port number it knows.
