Any rumors if/when they may be an international service . I use spotify, but finds the SQ a bit shoddy for my hifi system .
it is a paradox, high bitrate compression like 320kpbs mp3 or OGG can sound good but it does not. * spotify does not have all tracks in 320kbps , hopefully they fix that . * They must have a flaw in their tool chain, spotify 320kbps is not transparent :-/ ?. * Another paradox we want compressed formats on devices like phones and squeezeboxes, but these does not have fpu or fast cpu , so they have compromises in their mp3 decoders for example even if 320kbps mp3 is transparent for the human ear , it is not always so when played from a squeezebox , here server side transcoding is better using lame/sox/flac . On a portable or in the car this does not matter, it will drown in background noise etc. But we use squeezeboxes who has "portable/phone type cpu's" in hifi .
