I don't think this has anything to do with spotify.  If you are saying
that you built playlists WITHIN SPOTIFY that contain spotify AND your
own songs, I suspect that may not work. It will work if using Spotify
application on your computer but not in SqueezeBoxes (note that I could
be wrong about this).  

To play your own songs, you must have entered the location of your
music directory in the SbS WebGUI > Settings > Basic Settings tab. 
Then SbS will do a scan of your music directory and these songs will
show up under artists, album, genre, etc. And then they will be
playable. But I'm not sure you can mix these with spotify songs (again,
I use triode's spotify, but don't think I can do this "mixing").

So main question: have you set up your music library to be read by SbS
in the settings I noted above?
