It is repeatable but I am unsure timing is always the same. I wonder if I haven't seen a 30 min. delay the last time. Also I think that rocking the volume up allows to regain the lost decibels, which is simpler that reactivating the phone and iPeng. I will try to test a bit more but usually when I wear the iPhone+headphones I am out of range of my wifi Lan :) Don't hold your breath.
